Role Summary

The RF Engineer is responsible for design, development, test of a broad range of RF circuits. The designs can include circuit boards for RFICs, RF MEMS components, antenna subarrays and complete phased array solutions. The RF Engineer will be responsible for designing solutions to meet customer specifications.


The core responsibilities include:

  • Design, Simulation and layout of uWave and mmWave RF circuits
  • EM Simulation uWave and mmWave circuits
  • Working at all phases from conceptual design and prototyping to final product
  • Support clients with requirements definition, project proposals and planning
  • Employ Design for Manufacture principles to ensure low cost and high yielding product
  • Build on Sofant own antenna system IP portfolio with innovations.

Person Specification


  • Bachelor/Master of Electrical Engineering
  • Desire to innovate with new circuit architectures, topologies, and techniques
  • RF design experience for communications transceivers or phased arrays
  • EM Simulation experience for RF circuits (CST, HFSS, Comsol)
  • Experience using RF Simulation tools (Harmonic Balance, S-parameter)
  • Knowledge and experience transferring products from development to production
  • Demonstrated ability of working independently with minimal supervision
  • High levels of energy and the ability to work with both commercial and technical employees
  • Have analytical, problem solving and strategic thinking skills


  • Knowledge of developing antennas or phased array antennas
  • Experience developing circuits for high volume industrial or consumer products
